Hello Rotarians and Friends,
The AFL Grand Final is now over and congratulations to the Brisbane Lions. To never give up until the final siren sounds is something we all can learn from. We also had the All Abilities Disco that night with a footy theme and meat pies . It was another great night and well run by our Disco team.
We had a Board meeting on Monday night with a review of all projects and planning for upcoming events. Key matters discussed included:
- The Kenyan Dignity pack Project where we have joined with the Salvation army, provide funding for the delivery of dignity packs in 233 schools with over 38,000 female students.
A Foundation project to provide research equipment for the Monash Prostate Cancer research team.
Student podcast projects at Doncaster and Doncaster East Secondary Colleges.
The RMC Manningham Family Festival and Walk for Youth Mental Health.
The ManningJam Youth Music Festival
Discussions on food relief for Manningham Residents doing it tough.
The Manningham Family Festival and Walk for Youth Mental Health on October 25th is fast approaching. Signs promoting the MFF have gone up around Ruffey Lake Park in Doncaster East. Many thanks to Barry Plant Real Estate for their sponsorship of the signs.
On Tuesday, Tony Monley, the Project Leader of the MFF, gave a brilliant radio interview on 96.5 Inner FM to promote the MFF. The interview was part of Brian Tyedin’s weekly radio program called “ Weekday Wellness “
On Saturday 3rd October we are at Doncaster Bunnings running a sausage sizzle. Come along and grab a snag. Our meeting at the Manningham Hotel on 7.10.26 will feature our DGE Murray Wilson.
Our meeting on Wednesday 21.10.26 has been moved to Thursday 22.10.26 at the Manningham Council Function Centre for the Manningham Business Awards. Members will have received an email with the details and to book with Ian Goldsmith if they wish to attend.
