Our Meeting this week (March 11) was cancelled, as many club members were in Hobart at the Annual District Conference.
Our next Bulletin will contain some reports of the conference. Stay tuned.
Manningham Citizenship Ceremony
And just a reminder - the Manningham Citizenship Ceremony - is on Monday April 20 (@ 7:00pm). Our club will be represented by Tania Marinaccio and Kevin Hall.
This ceremony provides an important milestone for those who have come from other countries and chosen Manningham (and district) to be their new home. As our National Anthem states:
"For those who've come across the seas; We've boundless plains to share; With courage let us all combine to advance Australia fair. In joyful strains then let us sing Advance Australia fair!"
The ceremonies are not only legal formalities but also celebrations of Australia’s multicultural community. Presided over by the Mayor of Manningham (or an authorised officer), these occasions bring together people from diverse backgrounds to recognise and welcome the newest members of the Australian community.
Club Meeting Next Week
We meet next week (March 18) back at the Manningham Hotel; 6:00pm for a 6:30pm start. We will hear tall tales and true about the the Annual district conference in Hobart and Past District Governor Paul Mee (a former member of the RC Manningham) will tell us about Australian Rotary Health. (Australian Rotary Health (ARH) is Australia’s largest independent funder of mental health research, supporting health research, scholarships, and community awareness initiatives nationwide.)
Youth Mental Health
And, deferred from last week, Club Co-President Esther Murray (a qualified senior Nurse) will give a brief overview of the Mental Health First Aid course developed by Eastern Health.
The program is a skills-based program that helps adults support young people facing mental health issues, whether as volunteers, family, friends, or colleagues. The course covers the main elements of the youth mental health first aid training, how to recognise and respond to mental health issues.
Club members are encouraged to consider this training for both public interactions and supporting peers.

The conference will offer learning, networking, and cultural experiences against Hobart’s historic backdrop. Join us from 13-15 March 2026 - next week! Our club will have a stall to promote our RMC Shine On Event that will occur on 8th August.

The “People, Planet, Peace” theme reflects Rotary’s commitment to driving positive change by protecting the environment, promoting peace, and supporting communities. This approach aligns with our seven areas of focus and calls for holistic, intentional action in uncertain times. As Rotarians, we aim to shape a better future for coming generations.
