Board Meeting Report 26 February 2026

1          Shine On Awards -  Co-President Esther briefed the Board that our Club has been requested to host the event.  BT will be MC and the BH has booked the venue.
2          The upcoming District Conference was discussed, with some 6 members attending
It was reported that the SES was still short of funds for the special unit. However, a subsequent post showed the new vehicle.
3          The Donvale Probus Club that was sponsored by Rotary ‘Manningham is celebrating 20 years and Our Co-Presidenat will attend the celebration.
4          International - Board ratification of $2,250 to Box Hill Central as part of a AUD$15,000 grant to install a water pump in Lemo district, Ethiopia.
5          Timor Leste Tree Planting – Growing Futures in Timor Leste to pursue a Global Grant with Multi-District involvement is being discussed between Pat A and David A. The project is for the establishment of trees by funding local farmers to upgrade skills, plant and maintain the trees.
6          Emerging Global Grant Project - Purchase of Prostate Cancer Treatment Equipment
(Team Leader- Ian Goldsmith), to support the research team at Monash University. Agree that RCMC contributes a further AUD$20,000 in addition to the funds raised at the March 2026, subject to the Global Grant being approved.
7          Foundation - Dignity Pack Project - Global Grant – Western Kenya
(Team Leader – Daryl Brown) This project involves the Salvation Army (West Kenya) and the RCMC. Project cost - USD$148,897 – includes USD$24,000 contribution from the Salvation Army). The Dignity Pack project will support 35,333 girls across 233 schools across 24 Divisions within the Salvation Army Territorial Region. Approved that RCMC contributes AUD$25,000. The proposed Host Club is RC Kisumu Western Kenya however RCMC will manage the distribution of TRF funds to ensure proper probity.
8          Manningham Family Festival and Walk for Youth Mental HealthEvents are progressing well with all Council and Bendigo Bank Gants secured, MOU with the Scouts is agreed regarding the Walk and set up. Council approval for the change of date to  25 October 2026 and at Ruffey Lake Park. Many bookings of services and equipment have been done, and the entertainment is  all booked. We need all members to put this date in the Calendar as we need all hands on deck.
9          Health and Welfare CommitteeThe QR Code project providing secure and confidential contacts for advice on mental Health is progressing well with all collateral done and now being rolled out to Council contacts and all local shopping centres.
