Rotary Manningham City was the host club for the District 9815 Primary School Speech Competition Grand Final on Wednesday 4.11.26 at Doncaster Secondary College Performance Centre. It was a spectacular speech contest with brilliant speeches from 14 finalists who were the winners from speech competitions held by Rotary clubs around District 9815. The judges were from Toast Masters International, with Toast Masters MC the Magnificent Marlene Sinclair. The Rotary MC was Brian Tyedin. District representatives were District Governor Emma Clark, DGE Murray Wilson, District Youth Chair Daryl Moran, and Rotary Community Leader Trish Carr. Well done to all who helped on the night – timekeepers, registration, ushers, photographer, sound set up, microphone head set placer, logistics and supper helpers. Thank you as well to Doncaster Secondary College for the use of the Performance Centre. The Winners were : 1st place – Nicky Liu from Beverley Hills PS 2nd place – Giselle Chan from Doncaster PS 3rd place – Chloe Min – Templestowe Heights PS Coming up next week will be a guest speaker Chris Cahir from the Bendigo Bank Following the cancellation and proposed rescheduling of the Manningham Family Festival and Walk for Youth Mental Health, we have discussed alternatives with the Council and the date chosen is Sunday 28 February 2027.
