Only a few week away until our Club Changeover lunch on the 5 July make sure it's in your diary and that you register.
Next week we will enjoy a lovely BBQ dinner (not a sausage sizzle) at Templestowe Bowls Club where Barry and his Team will showcase our new (renovated) BBQ Trailer.
It was great to hear from our Guest Speaker Carol Adair who attended with her husband Alan. Carol gave us an overview of what epc Palliative Care provides. Although a difficult subject and close to many Members hearts Carol presented all the amazing things on offer from epc.
She has been a Volunteer at epc for more than 15 years. Her stories made us realise that it is a challenging area to volunteer in but is significantly rewarding.
Please refer to epcvic.org.au to see all the support you can get for family and friends when needed. Areas are covered by Nurses, Doctors and Allied Health and is cost neutral. Thank you Carol.
Photo: Liz Olie, Founder of the All Abilities Good Vibrations Disco, is with Luke Bastian celebrating the 10th Anniversary of this great Event. On Saturday night nearly 90 guests attended and enjoyed a great evening of dancing, singing and laughing.
The theme was “Bollywood” and many guests dressed up for it. As always a number of our Rotary Members joined in to ensure a very successful evening.
Next Event is called “Christmas in July” and is on 25 July. Come along, dress up in your Santa hat and make sure you put it in your diary.
Our Member Janis McFarland has resigned due to personal reasons.
Janis had many roles in the Rotary Club of Templestowe due to her considerable talent and organisational skills. She became President in 2017 and steered the club through some challenging times.
In recent times Janis undertook the role of Editor for our Newsletter and introduced a new style to our newsletters at that time.
Thank you Janis, for all your Rotary contribution over the years. You are always welcome to join us for any Event so we can enjoy a “catchup” with you.

Co-Presidents Esther and Anthony, along with many of our Members attended the Bendigo Bank 2026 Business Breakfast held at Manningham Function Centre. We heard from David Robertson, Chief Economist, Bendigo Bank. who reviewed and forecast our Economy and how we are progressing as a Country and as a State.
It was an early start at 7am, with close to 100 attendees. We were all served a hearty breakfast. It was fantastic to see how our Community Bank looks after our community, with many donation given to local services. Thank you to Ian Goldsmith who conducted this great Event.
On Saturday night Doncare Board Chair Andrew Aston with Doncare Chief Executive Officer Kylie Scoullar brought together a group of community leaders to explore a self-sustaining model designed to make psychological support more accessible and connected to wrap around supports, delivering lasting impact for our community.
Club member Ian Goldsmith and partner Aurelia Ginevra represented both Manningham City Rotary and the Doncaster East and Templestowe Village Community Banks. Enthusiastic conversation around the table, over a lovely meal, explored how strategic investment will bring this initiative to life. The brainstorming created a host of ideas for Andrew and Kylie to investigate in order to bring this initiative to life.
The Rotary Club of Manningham City is the first organisation to commit funding ($30,000 over 3 years) to this project. More to come of course.
